anyone who even contemplates jango being alive is needing to read the extended universe, particularly the legacy of the force series where boba talks about the moment his father dies on geonosis.
one of the better books in the series in my opinion

So, l recently found this, and believed it to be quite enjoyable. For everyone else, l am sure you'll find it decent too.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3B_ctpEjic Now, movies like this tend to exaggerate the true skill of the Fett's, but since the Fett's are a common hero to many l'll try not to take away too much from them. As a bounty hunter, they were both great. Skilled, versatile, fearless, and quick. Quite an array of talent, but let us not forget just how much talent are within Jedi/Sith. These beings train day in, day out, all their lives, mentally/physically/spiritually. Look at when Kenobi storms into the Kamino pad, he flawlessly turns aside Jango's flurry. Blaster reflection is typically seen with slower firing but strong carbines and rifles, in semi-auto modes. Jango instead has dual light blaster pistols with an exceptional rate of fire, yet this made no difference to Kenobi. Hell, even Ms Vosa nearing the end ALS0 effortless turns aside Jango's volley (For goodness sake, she defends herself in a backflip....) Both of these, could have easily reflected the first shot back at the user. The Fett's are exceptional soldiers, great houndsmen - but as Jedi slayers l think they really fall short. Jango is totally dead and it belittles his legacy to talk of him being alive & cowardly abandoning Boba. And I don't think he'd dishonor his armor by putting a decoy in his suit.
It's possible Mace lived but barely possible. And Plo Koon is dead, get over it. he blew up in space. BTW, Jango had some advantage on Mace at first. With his jet pack and combat skills Jango almost took down Obi Wan, captured Anakin, and shot down Trebor(I think thats his name) who jumped on the balcony to take out Dooku. You're pretty bad-*** if you can do these things without force-powers. Now Jango had some disadvantage as well, not knowing Mace is like Jedi #2 in the Galaxy is a big one. But I've read in Star Wars Insider(can't remember which one) and I think Lucas even mentioned that had Jango not lost use of his jet pack he could have taken down Mace. |
