Why tell Maul, who is nothing more than a very skilled and acrobatic swordsman any of his (palpatine's) business? Sidious I believe trusted Tyrannus more than Maul, as he told him of the death star, the whole war with the separatists, everything. However, he didn't tell Dooku that he planned to have him killed. I'm noticing a pattern of how Sidious merely uses others to do his work while he simply plots and schemes behind a fake smile. The only time he ever had to fight was with the confrontation at his apartment and the duel at the senate arena. I know EU says he fought Luke, but I'd rather refer to the palpatine we know.

I hardly read any of the comics aside from a few from Dark Horse. Thing is, it seems to go both ways, info from the films and Expanded Universe stuff. Problem with EU is that it can become more towards fan-fic and a lot of what-if scenarios. You could go as far as to say that EU is in itself a stand-alone from the main star wars saga that was potrayed through the use of films.

i haven't seen the comics around in quite a few years.... plus i don't ever think i will get around to reading comics. i will stick to the movies

Movies pwn but comics aren't a bad bit of reading. Though it just makes me try and visualize the saber fights in real-time. Last one I read was talking about this Cade Skywalker....don't know much about him. Timeline is this new sith order has risen......oh I remember now. The Fel Empire era. Roan Fel, some guy that's emperor of what remains of the empire. He isn't a sith (shocking) but there is one sith lord that wants to usurp him. It's like, he feels only the sith have a right to rule the galaxy and run the galactic empire. Blame it on Vader and Sidious, they started it.
