yeah like i said i doubt it myself, "the phantom Menace" adds some truth to your ghost theory. But I read that maul may have been a clone which lead to the flirtation of a Clone Army. Since Maul was Dead Jango Fett was used instead.

Also the return of the Emperor was actually a clone. Luke & Lea Fought him later on (cloned Emperor) But I haven't read anything recently

well I doubt Maul was a clone, There's a tone of mystery around him. Palpatine was always planning on making a clone army of something for himself. Jango fett was chosen because the whole Trooper thing could easily be "bought"by the Jedi.

you have to remember between mauls time & the time the clone army was ordered for creation almost 20 years had passed. Duku was hardly a good choice nor was anakin sky walker.

Maul was suppose to lead a army of cloned sith force users. genetically programed to follow the Emperor like order 66. Maul was at one time the most powerful apprentice & at the time anikin wasn't even on the radar of the emperor.

Well I'm sure anyone could have done this but I googled this, Officially Maul did come back with a cybernetic lower torso (legs) & he also battled Darth Vader believing he wasn't completely dark sided, That too much of Anakin was present to be a true sith lord. As I've read A clone was made of Maul to Battle Vader.

Vader also being part machine stabbed himself with his own light saber to kill Maul from behind. Vader didn't take much damage the saber went threw his machine body to kill maul.

later on the REAL maul made a come back to kill a young Luke sky walker but Old Ben Ken obi battled "Cyber" Maul to protect Young Luke.

lt is a comic series, hence it should be treated like one.

then it's really tough to ever know, being that if it wasn't in the movies then technically it never happened. i mean seriously half of star wars took place outside of the movies.

maul being a clone doesn't sound right. sounds like the books and comics play a bigger role than the movies.

well if i had to guess only 15% of star wars was "SEEN" in the movies, the rest is simply telling you the before & after of episodes 1-6.

one example is in a book called "Bounty Hunter" it tells the tale of the bounty hunters hired in Empire Strikes Back. Boba Fett didn't die in episode 6. Boba spent two weeks crawling his way out & was burned by stomach acids of the pit he fell in.

the stuff written on maul says he lived after his battle with qui gon & obi won. a clone was made and was killed. the real maul did come back and was killed before episode 6 or so.

but that is stuff written outside the movies. which is like 95% of where star wars takes place asides from gaming.


belive want you want i have a comic showing vader killing a cloned maul, wiki says maul battled obi years later when luke was a "boy" where maul died fighting "Old Ben" kanobi

the emperor had a back up plan in the event of his death, like the clone troopers a clone of the emperor was made and geneticly programed with info on the real palpatine to keep the empire in power.

Luke & Lea both fought & killed him 10 yrs after return of the jedi.

Anyways maul was cloned to kill vader. some other sith faction belived he wasn't evil enough to be a true sith lord. so this sith group ( i forget the name) cloned maul to kill vader but vader killed the clone.

at least that's what i've read on him so far.
