I was wondering is Ben Skywalker a Jedi Knight?

While it is never actually said he passed, or even took, the Trials, Ben was told to construct his own lightsaber, which is part of becoming a Jedi knight. Apart from that, all that I could find simply stated him as a Jedi, not a Jedi Knight.

yeah he is granted the title by luke in the second last book in the legacy of the force series (doesnt deserve it in my opinion the wee crybaby LOL)

Look at the Dramatis Personae at the beginning of the last 2 LoTF books. It clearly states he is a Knight.

Well from the books i have/read he's a padawan but i know he's a knight now.

That's open for debate, but yes, I believe Luke deemed him powerful enough to be considered a Jedi Knight.

I believe the truth all rests in what is written about the man. Even if he does have the skill and potential of a Jedi Knight, if he is not formaly dubbed a Jedi Knight by one who is higher than he and posseses the authority, then he is not a Jedi Knight. This is because Jedi Knight is a rank signifying your authority and your level in the force and the Jedi Order. So even though he or we may think that he is ready, the oppropriate time set by the force is all that matters. So if the books clearly say in a literal word for word way that he is a Jedi Knight and has been given the title, then he is a Jedi Knight. If it is not and he has not been given the title, then he is not a Jedi Knight. Have anything to add?

I believed latter in the series, Ben was recognized as a Jedi, but yes I agree. Jedi Knight is just a title though. Anakin was more powerful than most of the knights before he even started trials.

I agree. Anakin was a phenomenal Jedi... That is before he got toasted and chopped on Mustafar. lol. Anakin clearly had the skill, devotion, and potential, but it was still not his time to be a Jedi Knight. For obvious reasons. Such as his lack of wisdom, trust, and patience in the force. These are crucial characteristics that one must have and show on a consistant basis to be worthy of the title 'Jedi Knight'. He was clearly worthy in the physical realm, and the force. It was his heart that was not anywhere near where it needed to be. That is why I believe that he was not dubbed a 'Jedi Knight', and why he fell so easily and could not see what was happening. Was Ben lacking in any of the characteristics I listed above that Anakin lacked in?

No, but I don't think they fully trusted him, for he was under guidance of the fallen Jacen Solo, Darth Caedus.
