Yes. I believe that is all the reason to deny the title of 'Jedi Knight'. If he was under guidance of Darth Caedus, then that means that his loyalty to the Jedi was unstable and questionable. It also means that he possibly may have wrong motives as a result of the dark side impact on him. Same thing goes in our realm. You won't be given the title of 'Manager', unless you have the skills needed, are willing to devote everything you can to the business. And unless you are loyal to it in every motive you have. If the authority does not see this or trust it, then you will not be promoted to 'Manager'. Sure he was a Jedi worthy in many areas to be a 'Jedi Knight', but he did not have everything needed or required of him. Was he ever given the formal title by a master to be a 'Jedi Knight'? I don't know, I hardly know anything ABY.

Err...Caedus was his master in all but name. And the 'Jacen' side of his character was long gone by that stage. Indeed, he had been missing since Myrkr...

Jacen was Ben's teacher up to about the middle of the LOTF series when Lumiya started taking influence of Jacen. And yes, Luke acknowledged Ben's Knighthood in the second to the last LOTF book due to all the experience Ben had been through under Jacen's mentoring and his experience in the GAG and then Ziost. Those events were more than enough trials for Ben to be recognized as being ready to be deemed a Knight.
